Mission: Christmas Miracle

Last week, I sent out a newsletter urging everyone to lift Sharon Terrell and her family in prayer as she faces yet another attack of cancer in her body. I spoke with Greg and Sharon on the phone just moments ago and I am thrilled to bring you a positive report.  Your prayers are being heard and God is moving in miraculous ways, intervening for the Terrells.

While we continue to pray and wait for the news of Sharon's healing, the Lord is providing the needs and finances for the family in some of the most unusual ways, from places and people unexpected. And through a special medicaid program for cancer patients, Sharon has just been approved for financial assistance to help cover medical costs. Praise God!

Sharon told me, "It's like the Lord has given me favor with man to help and give from every direction. There are prayer chains in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama, and I knew God would somehow move on our behalf, as He always does. But it's amazing to see how God is working right now in this most desperate hour of need, when our finances have long been depleted because of medical expenses. There's just no way to describe the grace of God like this until you've experienced it...I am truly amazed, and so grateful."

With the encouragement of friends and family, they have fought a good fight of faith during the past two years, and the Lord has walked with them every step of the way. After battling cancer and other related health issues, and looking death in the face for nearly two years, it would be easy to become discouraged and just give up when cancer returns. But, Greg and Sharon are standing firm on the promises of God and remaining faithful. They spoke not one word of death, defeat, doom and gloom. Instead, they praised God for one more opportunity to glorify His name and trust Him completely to meet every need.

I will continue to prayerfully thank God for Sharon's healing. (I've asked the Lord to heal her, now I'm praising Him for doing it!) And while I join my faith with the Terrells' faith in trusting the Lord to meet their needs, I am going to put my faith into action...for, faith without works is dead! (James 2:26)

And I challenge you to do the same.  We need another small miracle. I'm asking you to give as generously as you possibly can to help see the Terrells through the Christmas and New Year holidays.

As personal friends of the Terrells, I know first-hand the financial devastation and unbelievable hardships they have endured because of enormous medical expenses and job lay-offs in the middle of it all...with two children in tow.

I realize the holidays are upon us and the demand for your dollar is coming from many directions. So I understand the sacrifice I am asking you to make at this time. But, isn't this the TRUE spirit of Christmas? God loved us so much, He GAVE. When a lost and dying world needed hope, God GAVE His only son.

Now, in the spirit the season, we have an opportunity to share the joy of giving in someone's hour of need. Please...pray about what the Lord would have you to give, and donate a sacrificial offering in the name of Jesus.

Through the e-commerce system on my website, I am providing a way to accept donations for the Terrells online. The need is great and immediate, and Christmas is only days away. Please use your MasterCard, Visa, or American Express and help make the holidays brighter for this family. Again, this is what the spirit of the season is all about.

The Lord has clearly spoken to me about helping my brother and sister in Christ, and their two daughters. I humbly urge you to do the same.

From now until December 31st, donations for the Terrells will be accepted here online. Every penny that is given through John Lanier Ministries will be directly forwarded to them. Your generous donation will help them buy groceries and basic necessities, catch up bills, car and house payments, fill the gas tank for trips to the doctor's offices and other medical facilities for treatments, and help Greg and Sharon provide gifts for their children at Christmas time.

JLM friends and prayer partners have always been loyal and faithful. I feel so very blessed to have your ongoing prayerful, faithful love and support. I know I can count on you to join with me in ministering to the Terrells.

Please know I am deeply grateful for your love offering of any amount on their behalf.

In Jesus' name,
John
